The participants supported the efforts of the Center for decreasing the corruption in the education, assessing the corruption in this area to be on a critical level and that the proposed measures will contribute to its decreasing and should be therefore implemented as early as possible. Proposal measures and expert opinions were presented by the experts Vanja Mihajlova, Bozin Donevski, Ph.D. and Marjan Zabarcanec, representatives from the “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” University, the rector Gjorgji Martinovski, Ph.D., the deputies vice – chancellors Zoran Velkovski, Ph.D., Violeta Arnaudova, Ph.D., and Ljubica Suturkova, Ph.D. At the workshop also participated the representative from the State Anti – corruption Committee, Sofka Pejovska Dojcinovska, the president of the Student Association of “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” University, Samoil Malcevski, the representatives from the Association of Local Self – government Units, Ismail Luma and Vesna Arsovska Dinkovska, a member from the Evaluation Committee from the “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” University, Konstandina Korneti – Pekevska, Ph.D., Sofka Koceva from the Bureau on Education Development and representatives from the Youth Educational Forum, Aleksandar Stojanovski and Kiril Spirovski.
Education stood out as one of the most vulnerable areas of corruption in Macedonia, according to the research on corruption that the Center conducted in the period 2005 – 2006, and the results from the investigation on corruption in education are published in the Investigative report on corruption in the education.
The Center for Civil Communications will soon submit the measures for narrowing the room for corruption in the education to the media and all authorized institutions.
